Residents can take part in something enjoyable whatever their interest or level of mobility is. We have a dedicated activity co-ordinator who arranges stimulating activities such as armchair keep fit, reminiscence sessions, dominoes, cards, card making and jigsaws. Residents can pursue existing hobbies or perhaps discover some new ones.

The home arranges visits to the village institute for drop in coffee mornings, there is a gardening club and arranges regular visits the services of the two local churches.

We can organise and encourage resident birthday celebrations and every year we organise a summer garden party and Christmas party, both of which are open to family and friends of our residents.

The home has full wireless access to the internet with computers specially adapted for use by the elderly which allows them to have e-mail facilities, Skype, the use of digital cameras and photo scanning facilities and general computer usage.

Happy Residents

“I would like to thank you and all of your dedicated staff for all of their kind and excellent care. When my mother arrived, she was not happy due to the effects of her condition and had lost a lot of confidence and mobility. The transformation since living with you at The Old Vicarage is incredible. The whole family have noted her happiness and contentment. The peace of mind we all now enjoy is much appreciated.”

Mrs B

“Over the years I have visited a few care homes and I can honestly say the Old vicarage has been the most homely and caring I have come across…Whenever I have visited all the staff have been very friendly and have shown genuine care for all the guests.”

Mr H

“Thank you so much for the amazing care that my Granny received with you. You run such a lovely home. I am always telling my Health and Social Care students about you all and hoping they turn out as caring and competent as all of you.”

Miss A

“Thank you so much for all your wonderful care of Mum over the last 3 years. Words cannot really express how grateful we have been to have Mum looked after in such a lovely place. As you can imagine it’s never easy to have to have a parent ‘looked after’ in care, but The Old vicarage has been the next best thing to having Mum at home. You have all been so attentive and caring, nothing has ever been too much trouble, and we will always be grateful for this.”

Mrs I

“Thank you for all the kindness, attention and love you gave to M. She could not have had a better place to be in her last 3 years. Also, I would like to say how welcome you always made me feel when visiting. Always a cuppa. It was much appreciated.”
